Here at The Grove, we are passionate about working in partnership with the community in which we live and work.

Whether it is sourcing local family businesses as suppliers, investing in the team or supporting local charity, we believe in operating ethically and sustainably.

The Team

Our team become part of a close-knit family of staff who are all committed to delivering the highest levels of service to our guests.

As an independent family business which has been operating for three generations, our team is an extension of our family and many of them have worked for us for decades, from housekeepers and gardeners to chefs and front of house staff.

We also believe in training our staff, to give them the confidence to perform their roles to the best of their ability and we engage with the local schools and internationally renowned City College Hotel School to secure new members of the team.

“My wife and I stayed overnight for a trip to Cromer and Richard greeted us when we arrived.

He and his staff are really friendly and made us feel really welcome.”

The ethos at The Grove has always been to use the abundance of seasonal produce which is grown right here on our doorstep.

Norfolk is a county with a burgeoning food and drink industry, so much so that it now hosts one of the biggest food and drink festivals of its kind in the UK. There is an abundance of independent farmers and producers from whom we are fortunate to be able to source producers and ingredients – when we aren’t able to grow and make them here on site of course!

But with our orchard, fruit, vegetable and herb gardens, as well as our poly-tunnel, much of the produce that appears on your plate in our dining rooms is grown right here at The Grove!

The Grove doesn’t so much have ‘suppliers’ as partners. We recognise the importance of investing in the local economy and putting back into the community in which we live and work.

As such, we are passionate about sourcing our products and services at a local level from companies who operate an equally ethical and sustainable approach to procurement.

This includes the abundance of local produce from suppliers such as John Davies and our Butcher, Icarus Hines. It also extends to the extensive maintenance work that is required, with the construction of our Orchard Rooms in 2013 undertaken by local builder John Falvy of Norfolk Post and Beam, and everything in-between, including sourcing local suppliers for design, print, laundry, and so much more.

“We had a lovely 3 day stay. Love the garden and the swimming pool.

Although we usually stay in one of the cottages, we enjoyed our comfortable room and great breakfasts. “
