Provisional Bookings

We are happy to take provisional bookings, but these must be confirmed within 10 days and secured with a non-returnable deposit of £1000.

Marquee Hire

For parties requiring the hire of a marquee, (groups of 35 people or more), a further 10% of the marquee hire cost will be taken upon confirmation of booking.


70% of the projected final invoice is payable 8 weeks prior to the function. Full payment of the outstanding balance plus any additional monies owing to The Grove on completion of the function is due within 28 days from the date of the function.

Unless stated all prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate at time of invoice.

Final Numbers

Final numbers must be received 2 weeks prior to the reception.

Cancellation by the Client

For any cancellation by the client with 62 to 28 days’ notice, The Grove reserves the right to raise a charge of 75% of the price quoted based on provisional numbers and requirements. With less than 28 days’ notice, The Grove reserves the right to raise a charge of 85% of the price quoted based on provisional numbers and requirements.

Cancellation by The Grove

The Grove reserves the right to cancel any booking without liability on its part in the event of any damage or destruction to the facilities by fire or flood or cause beyond the control of The Grove which shall prevent it from performing its obligation in connection with any booking. The Grove  will not be responsible for any consequential loss arising from such circumstances. The Grove strongly recommends that clients purchase Wedding Insurance.

Damage to Property

In the event of any damage occurring to The Grove premises, its contents, fixtures or fittings due to the client or their guests, the client will be responsible for reimbursement in full. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contacting specialists to make the repairs.

Conduct of Guests

The client is responsible for the orderly conduct of guests. The client shall ensure that guests have regard to any regulations imposed by any competent authority and that nothing shall be done which will constitute a breach of the law. The client shall fully indemnify The Grove against any claims or loss or damage arising as a result of this clause.


All children are the responsibility of their parents/carers and must be under supervision at all times.

External Contractors and Equipment

It is the client’s responsibility to specify and liaise with all external contractors who will be on site such as the florist, entertainers, photographer, taxis, etc. All external contractors must have Public Liability Insurance and the client must on request supply to The Grove a copy of that policy and current premium receipt. All electrical equipment used on the premises and plugged into our supply must have a current PAT test.

Health and Safety

The client must at all times comply with The Grove’s health and safety and fire regulations.

No candles are to be used in the marquee. Only candles provided or approved of by The Grove are to be used in the house itself.


In line with government legislation, smoking is prohibited in all buildings at The Grove.

Food and Drink

No alcohol, food or drink is to be brought onto The Grove property by the clients unless as a gift to guests/clients and, this must not be consumed on the premises without our express advance permission, in which case a corkage fee will apply.


All confetti must be biodegradable.

Lost Property

The Grove is not liable for any loss or damage to the property of the client or any person as may occur within the constraints of the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956.

General Terms and Conditions

Clients and their guests must comply with the general terms and conditions of The Grove, a copy of which is available on request.
