With Summer comes peak season here at The Grove, as children break up from school for the six week holiday and families come to stay with us for an exciting and memorable summer break.
Our garden is in full flourish, with our wide range of home grown produce and our summer menu features dishes awash with home-grown fare, including beans from the gardens, served with the finest Cromer Crab, lobster fished to order from local boats, and fresh local strawberries and cream are also enjoyed as we watch the Wimbledon tournament, hoping for another British victory!
Summer in Cromer always kicks off with the famous Crab & Lobster Festival; a long weekend at the beginning of June featuring food, fun, art, music, heritage & entertainment.
Crabbing is such a poplar pass-time in the summer, it’s great way to spend a lovely few hours trying to catch these sweetest of crustaceans in there most celebrated home.
The Cromer Carnival also comes to town in August. A great event for the whole family, it sees thousands of visitors descend on the town to enjoy the display performed by the famous Red Arrows and to watch the fabulous parade of floats and bands through the centre of the town. In addition, August also hosts the North Norfolk music festival; a two week event celebrating the best of musical talents at various locations across the coast.
There is lots to do for all the family, including events on at Cromer Pier, where the seaside special is always popular.
There are outdoor theatre performances hosted at the nearby North Lodge Park, as well as our own performance in late summer.
About 40 minutes away, there is Dinosaur Adventure and also Bewilerwood, offering great days out for the little ones, or closer to home Amazonia Zoo is right on our doorstep.
Our menu changes seasonally, summer dishes include Cromer crab, lobster, lots of sustainably sourced North Sea fish, lots of fresh garden produce, including salad vegetables, legumes, onions, courgettes etc… You can see our current a la carte menu here.
